‘Selena’ actor Jennifer Lopez is reportedly in regular contact with her ex-husband Ben Affleck, amid the wildfires on the streets of Los Angeles. After the divorce, he had a USD 20.5 million ‘bachelor pad’, which had to be evacuated from.
According to Page Six, the actress is particularly stressed over her husband’s well-being. She ‘has been checking in on Ben throughout this whole ordeal’ and ‘let him know she’s there for him and the kids’, referring to the kids he shares with Jennifer Garner. She has offered support and assistance, with whatever he or his children need. Despite their recent divorce, Lopez has been generous in helping Affleck as his residence in Pacific Palisades is a threat to live in and remains under evacuation. Page Six’s source reported that the singer ‘reached out as soon as she heard about Ben’s home possibly being in danger and that he was evacuated’.
On Tuesday night, January 7, the photos of Ben Affleck fleeing the scene with his acquaintances surfaced on the internet. The fires have destroyed the area, with the demise of at least 10 lives, and have led to the evacuation of over 300,000 people.
The Los Angeles wildfire has not only caused havoc and chaos in the Affleck family. Many A-listers had to evacuate their homes including ‘Nobody Wants This’ star Adam Broody, ‘Gossip Girl’ star Leighton Meester, Paris Hilton, ‘Scary Movie’ star Anna Farris, Jamie Lee Curtis, and ‘Top Gun’ star Miles Teller, among many others.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck didn’t call their relationship quits the first time. They were engaged in 2002, but it fizzled out. Two decades later, the romance started to brew and the duo got engaged for the second time in 2021. However, Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024 and the pair finalized the divorce in January 2025.
