As they say ‘every good thing comes to an end,’ and it appears curtains are falling on the reign of Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2’. A sequel to the 2021 release ‘Puspa: The Rise,’ the movie created and broke several box office records. Right from the word go it was the talk of the town and it lived up to the hype as well. However, after completing an impressive one-month run at the theatres, it appears the movie’s grip over the box office numbers is loosening now, as on day 43, Thursday, the film failed to mint even Rs 1 crore.

Over the weekend, it will try to chase the target of Rs.1300 corere. So far, it is sitting on a total collection of Rs. 1224.65 crore. This week right from Monday the movie saw a major drop in its earnings. People thought it hit rock bottom with a Rs 1 crore collection on Monday, but they did not see that soon even a crore will appear like an ambitious target.
However, one needs to take into account, that ‘Pushpa 2’ was released on December 5, 2024, and the entire month despite the release of ‘Baby John’ and ‘Mufasa: The Lion King,’ it made headlines on both national and global box officers. In January, finally, it got some tough competition from Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ and now after more than 40 days of the theatrical release, the movie is ready to move on.
