Royal Enfield Scram 440 launched at Rs 2.08 lakh.

Royal Enfield has finally launched the all-new Scram 440. The bike was first unveiled at the Motoverse 2024 event in Goa, replacing the outgoing Scram 411. With a host of upgrades in both performance and design, the new Scram 440 is priced from Rs 2.08 lakh, ex-showroom, for the base Trail variant, making it only Rs 1,300 more expensive than its predecessor. The higher-spec Force variant is available at Rs 2.15 lakh, ex-showroom. The Royal Enfield Scram 440 goes up against rivals like the Triumph Scrambler 400X in the competitive scrambler segment.

Royal Enfield Scram 440: Engine and performance

The biggest update comes in the form of a new 443cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This unit produces 25 hp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Compared to the Scram 411, the new engine delivers 4.5% more power and 6.5% higher torque. The motorcycle now comes equipped with a six-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield Scram 440: Key upgrades and features

Apart from the upgraded engine, the Scram 440 also gets several upgrades to improve ride quality and handling. Key highlights include a lighter clutch, switchable dual-channel ABS, alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, and a stiffer rear subframe aimed to improve overall stability.
In terms of dimensions, the Scram 440 is slightly larger than its predecessor, with a 5 mm increase in wheelbase, length, and height.

Speaking of the design, the Scram 440 gets subtle styling tweaks for a fresher look. It features a redesigned headlamp cluster, new sleek turn indicators and tail lamps to name a few. The fuel tank now features ‘440’ graphics, replacing the earlier ‘411’ branding, and Royal Enfield has introduced new colour options as well.
The Scram 440 continues to feature gaitered telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc, complemented by switchable dual-channel ABS.
