Shubman Gill: Team batting second will have more pressure as there is no dew

NEW DELHI: India vice-captain Shubman Gill said anything around 300-325 will be a ‘very good’ score as there won’t be a dew factor when India face arch-rivals Pakistan in their second Group A Champions Trophy game in Dubai on Sunday.
The opener, who score a century in India’s first game against Bangladesh, also pointed out that in the absence of dew, the team batting second will be under more pressure.

“We definitely want to play positive and aggressive cricket. 300-325 will be very good score on this wicket. The team batting well in the middle overs will have a better chance of winning,” Gill told reporters on the eve of the game.
The high-stakes encounter between India and Pakistan continues to generate significant interest despite India’s recent dominance over their rivals in major tournaments.
In the ongoing Champions Trophy, both teams enter the game with contrasting fortunes.
While India won their opener, Pakistan lost their first game to New Zealand and face a must-win situation.
While dew has historically influenced matches in Dubai, Gill believes it won’t be a factor in Sunday’s encounter.

“Toss won’t matter as there is no dew. Team batting second will have more pressure,” added Gill.
