Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer Simple Energy has launched the updated One electric scooter, starting at Rs 1.66 lakh, ex-showroom. Dubbed the One Gen 1.5, the scooter essentially comes at the same price as its predecessor but features a host of upgrades, including an enhanced range. Simple One Gen 1.5 e-scooter: What’s new
While the design, dimensions and overall look remains the same, the scooter now gets upgrades in the form of software updates to track history and vehicle, TPMS, rapid brake, regenerative braking of up to 7 percent, USB charging port and more.
One major highlight of the scooter is its range enhancement. The scooter houses a fixed 3.7 kWh battery pack along with a portable 1.3 kWh unit that delivers an IDC range of up to 248 km on a single charge. For the unversed, the previous gen scooter offered 212 km on a fully juiced battery setup. This makes it the longest-range e-scooter on sale in the market.
This EV offers four riding modes: Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. The scooter can achieve a top speed of up to 105 kmph and can sprint from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.7 seconds. Other upgrades include app integration with the Simple One Connect app, park assist, OTA updates, find my vehicle feature, and guide me home lights among others.
The manufacturer has also announced that it will expand its retail operations by opening 150 new stores and 200 service centers across the country by FY’ 2026.
