Sonu Sood, praised for his humanitarian efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic, recently discussed his experiences while promoting his film Fateh.
On a podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, he addressed claims about using PR for his charity work, saying he’s fine with people having such opinions.
When asked about other Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, who also helped during the pandemic but didn’t gain as much attention, Sonu Sood explained that while everyone contributed, his focus was on action rather than sharing posts. He primarily used Twitter (now X) to respond and address needs directly.
Sonu further stressed that he had no PR team or journalists promoting his efforts during the pandemic. He pointed out that his sole focus was on helping people and providing the necessary support without seeking publicity.
When asked about the removal of tweets from people he had helped during the pandemic, Sonu Sood explained that after receiving assistance, many individuals deleted their tweets to avoid being overwhelmed with calls and requests for help. He emphasized that his priority was always providing aid rather than seeking attention, adding that deleted tweets were a sign of help being received. If tweets were from fake accounts, they remained online.
Sonu Sood has been promoting his latest film, Fateh, which has earned approximately ₹10 crore at the box office so far. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandes.
