Tesseract mania! Ultraviolette’s e-scooter receives over 20k bookings in 48 hours!

Ultraviolette Automotive has taken the Indian electric scooter market by storm with its maiden launch in the segment, the Tesseract. Within just 48 hours of unveiling, the company has racked up over 20,000 pre-bookings. In response to this overwhelming interest, the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer has decided to extend its special introductory price of Rs 1.20 lakh for the first 50,000 bookings.
While Ultraviolette’s Tesseract is off to a record-breaking start, Ola Electric seems to be facing a rough patch. Once the undisputed leader in India’s EV scooter market, Ola has witnessed a staggering 74.5% YoY decline in sales, plummeting from 33,906 units in February 2024 to just 8,647 units in February 2025.

Built on an all-new platform, the Ultraviolette Tesseract is powered by a 20.1 bhp electric motor. The scooter can sprint from 0-60 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 125 kmph. Depending on the selected battery pack, the Tesseract claims a range of up to 261 km on a single charge. It is offered with three battery options: 3.5kWh, 5kWh, and 6kWh. Additionally, fast charging support allows the battery to go from 0 to 80% in under an hour.
As for features, it boasts a 7-inch touchscreen TFT instrument cluster with onboard navigation, dual dashcams (front and rear), wireless charging, and haptic feedback on the handlebars. Safety is taken care of by dual-channel ABS, traction control, hill-hold assist, and dynamic stability control.
More importantly, the Tesseract is the first Indian scooter to feature radar-based ADAS. This suite includes blind spot detection, overtake alerts, lane change assist, and collision warnings—a segment-first feature in the country.
