According to the official website of THE World University Rankings 2025, no Asian universities secured the top position in any individual subject. However, there was strong representation across the rankings. China and Singapore feature in the top 50 for all 11 subjects, Hong Kong is represented in nine of them, and Japan appears in eight. Furthermore, the highest-ranked institution outside Europe and North America is the National University of Singapore, positioned at 25th, while Peking University and Tsinghua University have slipped to 38th and 39th place, respectively.
